In an announcement on July 25, 2025, the US Commerce Department reached a final determination with regard to the antidumping duty it intends to apply to Canadian softwood lumber. 

The new duty is stated to be 20.56%, with increased countervailing duties expected in the coming weeks, bringing the potential total up to 34%. 

While these changes are not yet recorded on the national register, it is confirmed by both the BC Premier’s office and the US Commerce Department.
