As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, we are taking necessary precautions to protect our employees, customers and partners. We remain open for business, and are more determined than ever to help Canadians and Americans cope with this crisis.
Our operation is running very well. We continue to operate efficiently across our network including the Canada – U.S. border and our current inland terminal capacity remains stable.
Below is a special message from James Thompson CN’s Vice-President Western Region. In this video, James provides an update on the state of CN’s network and recognizes the efforts of all CN’s employees as we continue operating as an essential service provider to our customers during these difficult times. He also stresses the importance of safety and thanks those who are working to run an efficient and safe operation.
1. Your Transportation Requirements: As the situation evolves, we want to ensure that we can continue meeting your needs. To assist with this, we have created a short survey to allow us to better understand your transportation requirements. If you already filled it out there is no need to fill it out again unless your situation has changed.
2. Extended Storage Options: For customers who ship via our intermodal service, as communicated earlier this week, if you are interested in evaluating extended storage options in Montreal, QC; Toronto, ON; Detroit, MI; Joliet, IL; Chicago, IL; and Memphis, TN; please fill out the form below.
3. Spring Thaw in Quebec: On March 26th, the government of Quebec announced an amendment to the spring thaw rules for 2020. This amendment means that essential supplies and products including food, sanitary and medical supplies, pharmaceutical products and goods necessary to produce food can move on regular triaxle chassis without the need for quad or permits. Spring Thaw dates for loads not classified as essential can be found on the Transport Quebec website.
We recognize that these are difficult times and want to thank you for your continued collaboration. We welcome your feedback and questions to help us better anticipate your supply chain needs during this difficult time. Rest assured we are here to move your freight.
Thank you, we appreciate your partnership.
