On April 8, 2025, the Canadian government announced that the US automotive tariffs announced on April 3rd will come into effect at 12:01 AM EDT on April 9th, 2025. 

These tariffs include the following:

• 25% tariffs on non-Canada-US-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) compliant fully assembled vehicles imported into Canada from the United States.
• 25% tariffs on non-Canadian and non-Mexican content of CUSMA-compliant, fully assembled vehicles imported into Canada from the United States.
